Community Amenities

Secord Wetland & Ponds
In Secord, residents will enjoy 3 scenic water features – 2 ponds and a natural wetland – surrounded by both new and fully-grown trees and pathways. Nearby homes will boast convenient access to scenic ponds, which will soon be home to birds and other small wildlife.

Neighbourhood Playground & Pathways
With many of Edmonton’s coziest new neighbourhood parks, picnic areas, pathways and a playground at hand, you’ll never run out of reasons to be outside savouring the warm summer sunshine. Plan a family lunch in nature, read a book while your children play on the nearby equipment, or take a leisurely walk along the community pathways that weave around each of the ponds.

Municipal Reserve & Baseball Diamonds
Secord is home to a lush municipal reserve complete with mature trees and two established baseball diamonds. The ideal spot for a relaxing weekend stroll or a fun neighbourhood baseball game, it is an idyllic space and a rare amenity that is happily shared by all residents.

Shopping & Dining
There are many reasons to choose Secord, but its sought-after location is key. Secord homeowners enjoy convenient access to much of Edmonton’s favourite shopping, dining and entertainment opportunities via both Whitemud Drive and Stony Plain Road, with neighbourhood movie theatres, restaurants, grocery stores and so much more just minutes from home.

Local Recreation Centre
The nearby Twin Rinks at River Cree features two NHL-size rinks, a full service concession and a Pro Shop. The Twin Rinks offer public skating, youth camps and leagues, ringette, the Adult Safe Hockey League, and are a favored practice facility for the Edmonton Oilers.

Schools & Child Services
Students living in the Secord neighbourhood will be welcomed at their primary designated school: Youngstown School (K-6) or Britannia School (7-9) and secondary designated school: Winterburn School (K-9), if space is available. For more information please contact the Edmonton Public Schools at 780.429.8000. French Immersion, Catholic and Public high schools are also options near the community. New parents will enjoy an abundance of daycare and playschool opportunities for their young children.

There is a new K-9 School coming Fall 2017! With David Thomas King School welcoming its first students this September, Secord kids will be able to walk to this inviting public school in their own neighbourhood. Find out more about this new Secord school here.
